Installed a 2 GB of RAM, but only an increase of 1.25 GB was displayed. Why?

I already had a memory 2 GB of RAM (although it has been shown to 1.99GB, but I think things too much). Now I installed another 2GB chip RAM but now my total is displayed as 3.25GB instead of 4GB. What could be the problem? Both chips are DDR2 Kingston.

Some RAM will be used for video, even if you have a video card. X86-type processors can only refer to 3.5 GB of RAM. This is normal.

HELP upgrade my PC?

We stock more than three thousand images in more programs it uses multiple digital Imaging. We have Microsoft 2007, just after these basic programs. I try not spend more than $ 350.00 and I plan on installing all the parts myself. I have a Sapphire 100566I RD-BK-SH Radeon 9800SE 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card Oh I'm running Vista, just slower than I think it should be.

You should be able to run Vista Home Premium with your current configuration if you disable Aero. Other than that I recommend knocking 2×1GB of RAM, which will be about $ 60, unless you find it on sale. DDR RAM is never as cheap as DDR2 because it is outdated. The motherboard you selected is not compatible with video cards. It only supports ATI cards in dual card configs. I suggest get a mobo with chipset nforce6 series with these cards.
